Doug's Take
The BMW Z4 M Coupe is an exciting sports car that boasts the potent S54 6-cylinder engine, which was shared with the famed E46 M3. It also touts head-turning styling, a mandatory 6-speed manual transmission, excellent handling thanks to small sizing and a rear-wheel drive layout, and a surprisingly practical interior. This Z4 M Coupe also features a long list of upgrades intended to enhance its performance, including a Turner CSL-style intake, an aftermarket header and exhaust, a Kassel tune, BC Racing coilovers, Porsche 996 Brembo brakes, and 18-inch Apex wheels. It also comes with a clean, accident-free Carfax report showing ownership in warm-climate states since new. Plus, this M Coupe is offered with the thrill of no reserve, so someone is taking it home at the end of the auction.

- BMW M released its take on the first-generation Z4 for the 2006 model year. Offered as a coupe (E86) and as a convertible (E85), the M model received a straight-6 engine shared with the M3, a specific exterior design, a hydraulic power steering system (instead of the standard Z4's electric unit), and a firmer suspension system. Production ended in 2008. According to the Z4 M Coupe Buyer's Guide, just 1,815 coupe models were sold in North America from 2006 to 2008.
- Power comes from an S54 3.2-liter straight-6, rated at 330 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque in stock form. This engine likely produces more power as a result of the modifications, though a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. It spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
